Missionaries Serving in Albania
Dr. Jeffrey and Caryn Macdonald have lived in the village of Shen Vlash in Albania as long-term missionaries since 2013. Dr. Jeffrey teaches Church History and Patristics and has served in different administrative roles at the Resurrection of Christ Seminary and the theology department of the Orthodox Church's Logos University. These schools train clergy and Church workers for the Orthodox Church of Albania. Jeffrey is also working on a textbook on Church History and the Church Fathers for his students.
Dr. Macdonald previously taught for many years at St. Herman’s Seminary in Kodiak, Alaska helping to prepare Native Alaskans to serve in the Church in Alaska. Dr. Macdonald studied at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Seminary, following an undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies and Archaeology at Wheaton College, in Illinois. He later completed a doctoral degree in Early Christian Studies at the Catholic University of America, in Washington, D.C.
The Macdonalds have five children. They are now seeking monthly supporters to help sustain their work in Albania.
