Moore FamilyMinistries & Projects
Pastoral ServiceSince the Moore's arrival in 2019, they have been praying and seeking to understand better how to foster and grow life-giving, Eucharistic communities throughout the nation and particularly in their home parish, St. Dionysios, where Fr. Chris serves as rector. The parish had been without a full time rector for over 2 years when they arrived, so striving to provide consistency for the faithful has been especially crucial to their ministry. Religious EducationEstablishing religious education opportunities with the help of church lay leaders, and encouraging them to take leadership in Sunday school classes and other opportunities to gather, has been a big focus for the Moore family. OutreachThe Moores have also had the opportunity to assist with the Metropolis's youth camp on a national level. Ulsan, South Korea is an industrial city with large automotive and ship-building industries. As such there is a notable foreign contingency in the Church including Greeks, Romanians, Russians, and Egyptians. It is their desire to continue to foster warmth and connection in this multi-ethnic community, again and again helping manifest the truth that we are one Body in Christ. Likewise, they are working to create an atmosphere among parishioners of "looking outward" with the love of Christ to embrace the community beyond the parish walls through prayer walks and the exploration of other parish outreach opportunities. |
