Help support missions in Scandinavia!
Welcome to my OCMC 2020 Virtual Trek4Missions page. During these challenging times, two things remain important to me: maintaining my personal health and my Orthodox faith. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus gives the disciples the final commandment: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." The disciples were missionaries. Without them, we wouldn't know Jesus Christ. How blessed are we that they were obedient to God!
My name is Elaine Piniat and I’m a pre-field missionary to Sweden and all of Scandinavia through OCMC. I will be using 10 years of journalism experience to preach the Gospel and spread the message of Orthodoxy in the digital world. My efforts will support the Metropolis of Sweden and its ministries, as I do in-person outreach and build a multi-platform online presence that inspires spiritual growth. I also hope to encourage those I meet in the broader community, as 73 percent of Swedes say they're either "not religious" or "convinced atheists," according to a Gallup poll.
As part of the Trek4Missions, I pledge to get outside and complete 75-100 miles by walking, running and biking for Orthodox mission work. Over the next five weeks, from August 9 to September 14, I hope to raise awareness and funding for OCMC's efforts to make disciples of all nations by bringing people to Christ and His Church. There are over 1 billion people who have yet to hear the Gospel message. They cannot be reached unless there are missionaries to send.
OCMC is supported by individuals like you and me. Donations large and small to Team Sverige during the Trek4Missions will help support the work I'll be doing in Scandinavia.
You can help change the lives of Scandinavians. I hope you will support these efforts by donating to my page or by joining my team. Together we can help bring the life-transforming Gospel into the world! Let's Trek4Missions!
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; Therefore, pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Luke 10:2)
