Trek4Missions with Me
During these challenging times, the work of the Mission Center has taken on greater urgency. Because of our own isolation, we may have a very small glimpse of what life may be like without Christ. Without Him, without His peace, love and joy, our life certainly would not be the same. Over 1 billion people have not heard the Gospel message. They will not have an opportunity to know the love of Christ unless we do something now.
OCMC missionaries are our essential workers, strengthening the Church abroad and being a visible witness of Christ in a different language and culture. This Trek4Missions is a way for us to walk in solidarity with them. Some Missionaries teach at seminaries, some at Orthodox schools and some home school their children. Some Missionaries are administrators, some work with youth, and others in offices. We have until September 14 to walk on this Trek with them. In doing so, we are increasing awareness of the acute needs around the world and raising essential funds so that this urgent work can continue. OCMC is supported by donations from individuals like you and me. It is up to us to help recruit, train, send, and support missionaries who are taking up their cross to follow Christ.
I hope you will support these efforts and I ask that you look into your heart and consider if God is calling you to serve in the Mission field as a long-term missionary. Together we can help bring the life-transforming Gospel into the world! Let's Trek4Missions!
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; Therefore, pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Luke 10:2)

What does it mean to be a Missionary
To many, the idea of being a Missionary is kind of like traveling someplace far from home or going on a short term Team but 'on steroids.' Being a Missionary is traveling to a place often far from home or serving on a short term Team, but the purpose is very different. A Missionary is there for the long haul and a Missionary is there to help the local Church grow and bring people into the Church. A Missionary is there because they are responding to the very words of Christ who gave His Apostles the guiding words to 'go to all nations, teach, preach, bring the Gospel, be a living reflection of Myself so that others may come to Me.'
Take a look at the number of years many of the OCMC Missionaries have served. Imagine being away from home for your next birthday. Imagine skipping Thanksgiving and then Christmas. BUT then think about the relationships you can nurture in that same time frame... people you meet on the street...people you invite to Church or to a Bible Study.
This Trek4Missions is one thing we can all do to raise money. With this help, we can be better poised to respond to the hierarchs who ask us 'Who Will You Send?'
